I'm Kathryn, the founder of The Yorkshire Pasta Company and proud mummy of 2. I founded The Yorkshire Pasta Company in 2019 and am so proud to have started the first British pasta brand and to have done it sustainably.
Manyindustrial pasta manufacturers have lost touch with the traditional techniques, opting for rapid, high throughput methods. I travelled to Italy to learn how to take pasta back to basics, with no compromise on flavour, making pasta slowly and authentically; this is essential for enhancing the flavour of the grain and the pasta's ability to absorb sauces. Some say it even results in a more easily digestible pasta.
And customers love it! A best -selling pasta brand for independents in the UK 2022-23 & 2023-24 (The Guild of Fine Foods Best Brand Survey). I am always blown away to hear Italians in the UK raving about my Yorkshire Pasta and hearing stories of it being sent to Italy to show family!
It's never beeen more important to think about environmental impact, and ir's especially important to me as a mum of two little boys. When I started Yorkshire Pasta, I knew I wanted to do my best to be a sustainable brand using locally sourced flour, solar power and everyone loves our beautiful paper packaging!
Highlights so far include becoming a finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, winning our 4 Great Taste Awards and of course Marco Pierre White telling us "Gret pasta - respect"!
